Leah Hodgson – Life Member #22
It is with great pleasure the the Ringwood Saints Baseball Club can announce that Leah Hodgson has been awarded Life Membership after many years of valued service to the Club.
On behalf of everyone at the Saints – Thank you Leah!
Leah commenced her involvement with the Club in 1991. She only played the one game that season and did not commence to play seriously for the Club until 1993. Leah continued to play summer and winter until the end of 1996. Leah was a member of the inaugural women’s team in 1994/95 and 1995/96 as well as the Women’s Champion in both years. She did play a fill-in role for a few more games in 2001, 2003 and 2007 before finally retiring having played 82 games.
In her 32 years with the Club, Leah has assisted with many social functions especially through the 1990’s including her special Thursday night pasta nights. She has also assisted in fund raising including a successful Club Fun Day in 1993.
Leah is also one of our most respected scorers. For 20 years or more she has undertaken the scoring duties for both senior and juniors sides often scoring 2 games on the same day.
In 2016 Leah decided to have a break from scoring and joined the Committee. For 2 years she ran a very successful canteen on Saturdays.
In 2021 she resumed her senior scoring duties for the firsts.
Leah was awarded a Life Membership in 2022.
